We believe that everyone has a fundamental right to not only have access to means of a healthy living, but also live in a healthy society. We also believe that Food is one the core essentials of health in personal and societal aspects. As environmental, health and other issues continue to build up and impose on our surroundings we must accept our responsibility to protect the quality of food (preparation, consumption and storage) to ensure ourselves of healthy living.
Our mission is to establish environmentally and economically healthy practices of food consumption by presenting a logical categorization of user guides and articles on eating mindfully, creating a one stop resource for users who wish to educate themselves and live with this beautiful plant, not against it.

Who are we?
The website was started by Jimi Demetriou, currently studying Culinary Arts at The Restaurant School in Philadelphia.
What’s with the name?
The rooftop kitchen started as a project for providing home grown healthy produce for a personal kitchen. If you’ve never been to Philadelphia, it is like most cities. Most people do not live around soil, let alone have access to plant on it; consequently the garden was started on the roof.
