Basil

Class of ingredient:Herb

Overview

The most common form of basil is sweet basil, but is also available in an assortment of flavors. Sweet Basil is a tender, light green low growing herb with a strong, warm and slightly peppery taste. It is recommended to be used fresh. When cooking with basil it is generally added at the last moment, as cooking quickly destroys the flavor.
